6. Miscellaneous   

Processing: do in PSE or other editing program.
Scanner processing is limited.   

Resolution: Keep the end application in mind, and use a frequency requiring the least amount of change later on.   

Compression: Do not compress until the final step after all processing has been done. Compression (JPEG format) degrades the end result.    

Sharpening: Use Unsharp Masking to sharpen, making it the last step before compression.       

Sizing: Make sizing changes only once- changing the size of a document always degrades the resolution, due to the interpolation required.
